A Chinese national has been charged with money laundering.

Hongfei Wu was held yesterday by officers of the Financial Investigations Branch and formally charged.

The TTPS says his arrest follows an extensive investigation stemming from a search of an apartment in South Park, Tarouba on August 10th 2023.

At that time, officers allegedly uncovered a suspected methamphetamine laboratory.

They also allegedly seized quantities of methamphetamine, precursor chemicals, specialized lab equipment, and a total of $30,064TTD, $170USD, and $715SRD in cash.

Based on the evidence obtained from the conduct of the financial investigation, Wu was charged with money laundering.

He was due to appear before a Master of the Court today.
