A 23-year-old Laventille man is now in custody following a robbery at the Queen’s Park Savannah.

Around 6:20pm yesterday, a 19-year-old man was walking around the Savannah when he was confronted by the suspect, who allegedly assaulted him and stole his cellphone.

The victim flagged down a marked police vehicle, which picked him up and initiated a search.

The suspect was spotted on Cipriani Boulevard – he was held and the stolen cellphone recovered.
