Today, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley will travel to New York, en route to Samoa, to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2024.

Themed ‘One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth’, the meeting will focus on resilience in four key areas: democratic institutions upholding human rights, democracy, and the rule of law; combating climate change; economies supporting recovery and prosperity; and societies empowering individuals for a peaceful and productive life.

CHOGM 2024 runs from October 25th – 26th, with ministerial meetings, fora and side events from October 21st.

Dr Rowley will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Amery Browne and High Commissioner to the UK Vishnu Dhanpaul.

Energy Minister Stuart Young SC will act as Prime Minister in the interim.
