Liam Payne’s One Direction bandmates have issued a statement saying they are “completely devastated” and will miss the singer “terribly”

Payne died yesterday after an incident at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He was 31-years-old.

BBC News says a report from the Buenos Aires Attorney General’s office details what investigators have learned so far about Payne’s death.

The report says that while his death is being investigated as “suspicious” because of local protocols, evidence suggests that he was alone in his hotel room at the time of the incident.

The report also stated that drugs and alcohol were found in the hotel room, and authorities say he was having a substance-related “episode” before emergency services arrived.

It adds that an initial post-mortem shows that Payne suffered 25 injuries from his fall, all of which are consistent with a fall from a height, and that he may have been fully or partially unconscious when he fell.
