Over 1,000 tree seedlings will be planted in Chaguaramas on Saturday by the Chaguaramas Development Authority and the NGO Hike and Plant.

According to the CDA, the Chaguaramas Peninsula has been severely impacted by forest fires over the past years.

It adds that the goal is to engage the community in a hands-on effort to rehabilitate fire damaged areas and raise awareness about environmental protection.

The Chaguaramas reforestation initiative takes place on October 19th, 2024, from 7am to noon at Mount St Catherine Road.
