Another call is being made for government to intervene in the situation at the Port of Port of Spain.

Mayaro MP Rushton Paray says a strike at the Port is having a crippling impact on businesses in both Trinidad and Tobago, claiming that containers are waiting for weeks to be examined.

He says the business community is demanding immediate intervention from the Government to resolve the labour dispute affecting the port.

MP Paray adds that the delays threaten to damage to the economy, especially with the Christmas season fast approaching.

The most recent statement published by the Port Authority on its website on Tuesday indicated that there were no disruptions being reported.
