A Trinidadian man has been held and will be extradited to the US to face charges for murder and other serious offences.

The suspect is accused of Murder, Robbery with Aggravation, Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Firearm to Endanger Life and Possession of Ammunition to Endanger Life.

These charges stem from incident in September 2021, with the suspect reportedly fleeing to Trinidad in October 2021.

The TTPS says the US obtained an indictment against the suspect relating to the offences, with the process received in T&T through the Mutual Legal Assistance via the Attorney General’s Central Authority Office.

In July 2024, the local intelligence unit obtained a copy of the Provisional Warrant for the Arrest and Extradition of the Suspect.

After lengthy periods of surveillance in the South and Central Divisions, the man was held in Cunupia on October 9th 2024.
