Guyana is aiming to establish a major facility in every region of the country to achieve self-sufficiency in egg and chicken production.

This announcement was made by President Dr Irfaan Ali as he spoke with a group of young people in Region Five about agro-business.

He revealed a government-supported initiative which aims to use technological advancements to produce chicken, prawn, shrimp and eggs.

This plan falls under the government’s Agriculture and Innovation Entrepreneurship Programme.
