Four men have been charged after being caught with prohibited items at the Maximum Security Prison in Arouca.
The accused were arrested during an operation sanctioned by Deputy Police Commissioner – Intelligence and Investigations, Suzette Martin.
This was carried out between 10pm on September 26th and 2am on September 27th, with officers seizing four Samsung cell-phones, five improvised weapons, one cigarette lighter, one cell phone charger, two pairs of headphones and a quantity of cannabis.
The four are jointly charged with Possession of Prohibited Articles Without the Lawful Authorisation of the Commissioner of Prisons.
