A 78-year-old man drowned at Caura on Friday.

According to a report by Guardian Media, Carlos Sylvester of Belmont was with relatives at the time of the incident.

He dove into Pool #1 around 5:20pm, but failed to resurface.

According to the report, the Fire Service Search and Rescue team responded and initiated a search around 8:30pm.

Sylvester’s body was soon recovered.
