T&T Paralympian Akeem Stewart has arrived back home in Tobago after picking up silver in Paris 2024.

First, he touched down at the Piarco International Airport where he was greeted by officials of the Sport Ministry, T&T Paralympic Committee, T&T Olympic Committee, NAAA TT and SporTT.

Then Akeem headed across to the ANR Robinson International Airport and was welcomed by THA officials who presented him with a cheque for $100,000 for his accomplishment.

It was previously announced by the Sport Ministry that Stewart will also receive $150,000 under the National Incentives and Rewards Framework.

Akeem threw a distance of 59.66m in the Men’s Discus event – a season’s best which won him T&T’s lone medal across the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics.
