The HDC is refuting claims its Chairman signed a contract with Rose Capital Investment Limited and issued payments of $4.8 million to company.

On Sunday, Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal raised questions about a contract for box drains and retaining walls in Gasparillo which he said was initially worth $3.7 million but rose to $4.8 million. 

In a media release, the HDC says Rose Capital Investment is not a company it has conducted business with, and there is no letter of award to the business.

It also notes that a cheque shown by the MP during a media briefing is not an HDC cheque, as the organization conducts its transactions online.

Furthermore, it says contrary to claims, HDC Chairman Noel Garcia does not sign letters for award and/or contracts to any contractor.
