An NWRHA worker was shot dead today at the St James Medical Complex.

Jamaal Watts was cutting grass on a field behind the administration building when he was ambushed and shot.

He was taken to the facility’s Accident & Emergency Department where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

The NWRHA says emergency security protocols were activated following the shooting, with counselling services to be provided to staff and the victim’s family.
