T&T cricketer Shannon Gabriel has announced his retirement from international cricket.

The 36-year-old played 59 Tests, 25 ODIs and two T20Is for West Indies, taking 166 Test wickets, 33 in ODIs and three in T20Is.

In a post to social media, Gabriel said playing international cricket for the past 12 years has brought immense joy and expressed gratitude to God for the blessings and opportunities received.

He also thanked Cricket West Indies, his teammates and all the people who stood by his and supported his journey.

Gabriel added that he will continue to represent T&T, clubs and franchise teams around the world.
