Fyzabad MP Dr Lackram Bodoe says the community of St John’s Branch Trace, where a bridge collapsed in July, has been abandoned.

In a statement to 103.1FM News, he said all that has happened since the collapse is the removal of half of the debris and the cleaning of part of the watercourse.

Residents are still left with no option but to use a boat donated by a fellow resident as their mode of transportation across the watercourse.

Dr Bodoe says he is liaising with non-government stakeholders to assist the community, as he claims there has been “deafening silence” from government.
