Additional Galleons Passage sailing following Cabo Star fire

There will be an additional sailing of the Galleons Passage on Saturday as the M.V. Cabo Star is out of service following a fire.

The fire occurred on Tuesday and surveyors from the vessel’s classification society have to travel from Panama to Trinidad to inspect the boat before it returns to service.

The Inter-island Transportation Company had added a sailing of the Buccoo Reef yesterday and sailings of the Galleons Passage today and tomorrow to assist in the interim.

In its latest update, the company says the Galleons Passage will also be added to the sailing roster on Saturday, leaving Port of Spain at 9am and leaving Scarborough at 4:30pm.

Vehicles up to 7000kgs will be accommodated and priority will be given to foodstuff, pharmaceuticals and other perishables.
