Bulletproof screen for Donald Trump at open-air rally

Donald Trump held his first open-air rally since an attempt on his life in Pennsylvania on July 13th.

He spoke to the crowd at the Asheboro, North Carolina from behind a bullet-proof glass screen set up around the podium.

The feature was added by the Secret Service.

The FBI is currently investigating the protection failure and political leaders in the US Congress have also started inquiries.

Meanwhile, Vice-presidential candidates JD Vance and Tim Walz have agreed to a debate on October 1st 2024.

CBS said the debate in New York would be moderated by journalists Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan.

Mr Vance is Mr Trump’s running mate, while Mr Walz is the running mate for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
