One person was injured in this morning’s fire at South Haven Shopping Centre.
In a statement shared on social media by the Anand Low Price Group, the blaze began around 9:45am and caused serious damage.
All stores were evacuated as a precaution and the company says it is cooperating with authorities and will await the results of a thorough investigation on the cause of the fire.
103.1FM News spoke with Mr Anand Ramnarinesingh, of the Anand Low Price Group and owner of the complex.
He says the worker’s injuries are not serious.
He adds that the fire appears to have started in an area that was under construction, but says the official investigation by the Fire Service will determine exactly what happened.
