The Chaguanas Mayor says officials are hoping to reopen the bridge at Perseverance/Factory Road before the start of the new school term.

Faaiq Mohammed made this statement in a video posted to his social media about the damaged bridge which was closed off on August 1st.

The mayor noted that contractors were on site over the weekend carrying out repairs.

There have been concerns about traffic ahead of the reopening of school on September 2nd.
