Part of the southbound lane of the highway in the vicinity Grand Bazaar will be closed from 9pm today for emergency works.

The Works Ministry says the closure will run until 12pm on Sunday.

Alternative routes are available from the Highway Parallel Access Road, onto Bamboo #3 Boulevard.

On Monday evening, a video began circulating on social media showing a sinkhole developing along the highway near Grand Bazaar.

The Works Ministry later carried out temporary restoration, noting that it was finalizing the scope of work to replace the culvert.
