A teenager and a 33-year-old man have been held in connection with a carjacking over the weekend.
Around 4am on Sunday, two suspects accosted the driver of a Nissan Navarra along Boodoo Trace, Warden Road, Point Fortin.
They took the vehicle, however it was later intercepted along the north bound lane of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, in the vicinity of Caroni.
The suspects have since been jointly charged with Robbery with Aggravation and Robbery with Violence.
Meanwhile two men have been charged in separate housebreaking and larceny cases.
In one case, a 21-year-old fisherman was charged in connection with an incident on the morning of August 6th, in which three suspects entered a residence in Union Village, Claxton Bay.
They assaulted the occupants and ransacked the home, taking cash, school bags, sneakers, alcohol and electronics.
Meanwhile in the second case, charges were laid against a labourer for a house breaking incident at Bernard Julien Circular Road in Tarouba on March 1st 2024.
The matter was called yesterday before Master Shaviki-Cazabon, who granted $25,000 bail to 25-year-old Cevan Hernandez.
The matter has been transferred to the San Fernando 1st Magistrates’ Court, with the next hearing scheduled for September 13th 2024.
