Questions are being raised about the quality of bulletproof vests for police officers, following the shooting of PC Shakala Charles.

PC Charles was wounded during an attack at St Paul Street on Monday when a bullet is said to have penetrated the side of his vest.

Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal is questioning whether officers are being outfitted with defective or expired bulletproof vests.

Dr Moonilal says the Police Commissioner must also reveal details of any audit on the quality of police equipment.
