Tropical Storm Alberto left three people dead after it hit the Mexican coast.
According to BBC News, officials in Mexico said the three deaths occurred in the northern Nuevo León state and at least two were minors.
In Texas, a disaster declaration was put in place as the edges of the storm brought significant rainfall, prompting evacuations.
NHC meteorologists say Alberto will dissipates over Mexico without directly striking the US.
Alberto is the first named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June to November.
Officials say this year, there could be as many as seven major hurricanes – more than double the usual number.
