Beulah Parris turned 100 on June 5th and credits God for her longevity.

Back in 1984, Ms Parris was honoured with the Public Service Medal of Merit (Silver) by then President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Sir Ellis Clarke.

She also received the Habitat 2000 award from the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements in collaboration with the City of Port of Spain, along with The City Day award in 2014 for her outstanding contributions to community service.

Ms. Parris also holds the distinction of being the first female Town Clerk of the City of Port of Spain.

To mark her 100th birthday, relatives and loved ones hosted a celebration at their St. Joseph home.

In attendance was Social Development Minister Donna Cox.

Regarding her longevity, Ms Parris said, “I would love to know that myself.  I pray to God daily to keep me, and HE has done so.”

Also, despite her many accomplishments, she says her proudest moment was providing care for her mother and aunts until their passing and that the most important life lesson is to be happy and humble.
