Family of Canadian YouTuber issue statement

The family of Canadian YouTuberChristopher Hughes, better known as Chris Must List, has issued a statement via his official channel on the platform.

Hughes is expected to appear in court next week
after being charged with Publishing a Statement with a Seditious Intention.

The TTPS says its investigation began after his social media activities, which included videos “featuring individuals professing to be gang members, advocating criminal activities, and using threatening language.”

On a statement issued via the Community section on his YouTube channel, Hughes’ family said it was working with authorities and global affairs in Canada and Trinidad, adding that efforts and focus are being put into “getting Chris out safely”.

Hello everyone,

An update from Chris’ Family:

We are currently working around the clock with the authorities and global affairs in Canada and Trinidad.

We appreciate all of your support and outreach – at this time, there will be no back and forth messages to provide further detail/responses as we are primarily focusing our energy on the matter at hand but we are hard at work to ensure progress.

We kindly ask refraining contacting the embassy and global affairs, to allow us to continue our progress without interruption to the team assisting us at this time and not to interrupt or interfere in the process.

We thank you for your kind words and understanding. Our family and the people we are working with closely, require privacy at this time and need to time to put our efforts and focus into getting Chris out safely.

Thank you.
