Caanan Presbyterian is this year’s champions in the Victoria Education District’s Under 12 Mixed Team Cricket Competition.

Caanan, playing for the first time in the tournament, bested Rochard Douglas Presbyterian in a final that culminated in a super over last Friday afternoon.

Batting first, Rochard Douglas posted 100/2 in 10 overs, with a top score of 46 from skipper Saveer Deonarine.

Caanan’s reply was spearheaded by Elijah Paul (top score of 41) and Jude Crevelle, who formed a 97 run partnership,

Three wickets then fell in quick succession, including two with the score on 100, leaving the scores tied after the overs had run out.

In the ensuing super over, Caanan Presbyterian scored 15 runs and despite a valiant effort, Rochard Douglas was only able to reply with 8.
