Former Guyana government minister Nigel Dharamlall has been granted bail following a new allegation of sexual assault.
According to Stabroek News, he turned himself over to police yesterday morning after his accuser told a press conference that she had been sexually assaulted in 2020 and 2021.
Mr Dharamlall responded by calling the allegations malicious and added that he “categorically and most vehemently” denies the claims.
He noted that he has known his accuser for several years and he has always maintained a civil and cordial relationship with her.
This latest allegation follows Mr Dharamlall’s resignation last July over separate allegations which were later withdrawn.
