A religious leader says despite attacks, the local Hindu community will not be intimidated.

Pundit Rishi Maharaj spoke yesterday during an event for the Restoration Of Purity & Atonement for the Murtis at the Bharatiya Vidya Abhyas Mandali on Watts Street in Curepe.

This followed an incident last week in which a number of murtis on the Temple’s compound were smashed to pieces.

He says while the constitution protects every creed and race, places of worship are under attack.

He insisted however that they will continue to stand strong.
