The German backpacker attempting to walk from Toco to Icacos was attacked by two men during his journey today.

In a Tik Tok video, Tilo Kruse says the men jumped out of some nearby bushes and pushed him onto the roadway.

He says he was able to grab his phone and flag down a passing car.

He adds that a report was filed with police on the incident.

Despite the experience, Mr Kruse says he still believes most Trinis are good people and is now more determined to show the good parts of Trinidad.

He will continue his walk to Icacos.

Mr Kruse’s “walk without money” began on Monday.

He’s posted several videos documenting the experience thus far, including an offer of a spare room for a night, as well as food and water from persons in East Trinidad where the journey began.

He also received cash but decided to buy snacks to give away, since he said he wanted the walk to be made without money.
