The United Nations Resident Coordinator and team in T&T have welcomed government’s move to include migrant children into primary schools from September.

They say access to education is fundamental to the lives of children, their families and the future of countries that host them.

The UN says children attending schools propels families forward and supports integration and language acquisition, as well as provides a sense of normalcy and security.

There’s been no word yet about including migrant children into local secondary schools.
