The Met Service is monitoring an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms associated with a tropical wave that is currently east of T&T.
It says gradual development is possible during the next few days, with a near 0% chance of development in the next two days and a 40% chance within the next seven days.
A tropical depression could form sometime next week, reaching the Lesser Antilles on Monday and continuing into the Caribbean Sea later next week.
Regardless of development, the TTMS says there may be impacts on Tobago, and to a lesser extent, Trinidad.
These would include periods of moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms with gusty winds in excess of 55km/hr, and rainfall accumulations of 25-50mm which can lead to street/flash flooding.
THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO WATCHES OR WARNINGS IN EFFECT FOR TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO.
