The Appeal Court has reserved its decision regarding the State’s appeal of a High Court ruling on the dismissal of former Central Bank governor Jwala Rambarran.

Mr Rambarran brought the suit after being relieved of his duties in December 2015.

In June 2022, Justice Devindra Rampersad ruled that the dismissal was illegal and in breach of the Constitution.

According to reports, Appeal Justices Nolan Bereaux, Mark Mohammed and Peter Rajkumar heard submissions yesterday from the State’s legal team, as well as Mr Rambarran’s attorney.
