Tomorrow, members of the Trade Union Movement will march from Circular Road to Harris Promenade in San Fernando.
The event is part of annual celebrations for May Day or International Workers’ Day.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9am the OWTU Head Office on Circular Road, with various union leaders bringing short solidarity statements.
The march route is as follows: begins on Circular Rd unto Royal Rd, turn west unto Royal Rd, and proceed unto Coffee St, along Coffee St to Lord St, down Lord St to Mucurapo St, south along Mucurapo St to Sutton St, east along Sutton to Cipero St, turn right unto Cipero and then right unto Rushworth, proceeding west to the western carriageway of Independence Avenue unto Chancery Lane, continuing unto lower High St, turning right and then left unto High St, up High St to Library Corner and then unto Harris Promenade.
Then, at Harris Promenade, President of the Joint Trade Union Movement, Ancel Roget, will deliver an address.
The theme at this year’s event is “RESET: It’s Workers Time Now!”
