Three persons were allegedly killed in a police involved shooting this morning.
According to reports, around 4:40am officers were on patrol along Caroni Savannah Road in the vicinity of the Caroni Cremation site, when they received information that a white Nissan Almera was carrying firearms.
The vehicle was seen speeding east, and during the chase that followed, shots were allegedly fired at the officers.
The officers returned fire, after which they found three persons with gunshot wounds inside the vehicle.
All three were later pronounced dead at hospital.
Reports say the accused have been identified as Amir Bissoon of Samaroo Lane, Dookiesingh Street Extension, St Augustine; Jodi Barath and Joseph Ramjit of Kalpoo Street, Spring Village.
Two of the deceased were said to have been affiliated with the Resistance Gang.
