The Health Ministry says a video on social media is carrying inaccurate and untrue information about the Couva Hospital.

It notes that the project scope for the facility did not include a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), but instead had a four-bed Special Baby Care Unit with incubators for less urgent cases.

Furthermore, the Ministry says that 34% of the facility’s beds were children, with the rest allocated to adults, underscoring that the hospital was not specifically designed for children only.
