The West Indies have barely made it through to the ICC World T20 in 2020, by being ranked seventh in the world at the 2018 cut-off date.

The top eight teams go directly to the tournament, while group stage games will be held before the tournament to decide which of the final four teams will qualify for the tournament.

Afghanistan is currently ranked eighth in the world, and they’ve made it through to the World T20 despite being a full ICC member for just 18 months.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, who are ninth and tenth respectively, will face off in the group qualifier games.

In addition to Ireland and Zimbabwe, Scotland, Netherlands, Hong Kong and Oman have been fast-tracked into the T20 Global Qualifier due to their participation in the opening round of the 2016 T20 World Cup.

They will be joined by eight other Associate teams who will advance from five regional qualification finals to take place in the first half of 2019.
