Dropped catches and some poor fielding cost West Indies in their three-wicket loss to Australia in the first of two T20Is.
Batting first, West Indies made 145/9 on the back of Kyle Mayers’ 39 and Odean Smith’s 27.
Josh Hazlewood took 3/35 to lead the Australian bowling.
In reply, Australia were led by captain Aaron Finch’s 58 and Matthew Wade’s 39 not out.
Odean Smith bowled a fine penultimate over, taking a wicket and conceding just four runs to leave Sheldon Cottrell to defend 11 runs from the last over.
Wade hit a boundary on the first ball and was dropped by debutant Raymon Reifer on the next, before Mitchell Starc eventually scored the winning runs with one ball to spare.
Also on debut, Yannic Cariah took 1/15 in four overs with his legspin.
