West Indies women will tour England for five T20Is in late September.
In a statement, Cricket West Indies says “the decision comes only after cricket operations and medical officials held detailed discussions and agreed that all local and international logistics and medical protocols would follow those established and successfully implemented for the West Indies Men’s tour to England earlier this year.”
According to ESPN Cricinfo, this will be the first international women’s cricket between major nations since the T20 World Cup final in March.
The ECB were left searching for an opposition team after India and then South Africa withdrew from scheduled tours.
Cricket Ireland extended an offer for an international series in September in the event that the West Indies tour fell through, but dates have now been confirmed.
The series will start on September 21st and all five matches will be played in the biosecure bubble at Derby.
