A somewhat inexperienced West Indies team was not good enough to beat Bangladesh in their first of three ODI games today.
The Jason Mohammed-led Windies team scored just 122 all out batting first, with Kyle Mayers top scoring with 40 runs, Rovman Powell adding 28 and Mohammed chipping in with 17 runs.
The superb bowling from Shakib al Hasan, who is making his return to international cricket once again after a ban, took 4 wickets for eight runs to lead the attack.
Chasing 123 to win, Bangladesh lost four wickets as T&T all-rounder Akeal Hosein took 3/26 on his West Indies debut to peg back the hosts.
But, the game was over after 33.5 overs, though Bangladesh lost four wickets.
The second ODI will be played on Friday January 21st in Dhaka.
