An added-time goal by Hwang Hee-chan saw South Korea into the Round of 16 of the World Cup in exciting fashion.

His goal in the 90+1st minute gave South Korea a 2-1 win over Portugal while Uruguay beat Ghana 2-0 in the other game.

Those results took South Korea from the bottom of Group H to second place behind Portugal and send Uruguay and Ghana home.

South Korea advanced ahead of Uruguay as, despite being tied on points and goal difference, they scored more goals in the group stage than their South American counterparts.

In Group G, Cameroon pulled off a shock 1-0 win over Brazil thanks to an added-time goal by Vincent Aboubakar who was subsequently sent off.

He already had a yellow card in the game and was booked again for taking off his shirt to celebrate the winning goal.

    Elsewhere, Switzerland beat Serbia 3-2.

Those results saw Brazil and Switzerland end in first and second place in Group G – level on points but separated by goal difference.
