Groups C and D are done and dusted in the FIFA World Cup 2022.
In Group D, action took place this morning between France and Tunisia and Australia and Denmark.
Tunisia beat a France squad in which several players were rested by a score of 1-0 with Wahbi Khazri scoring in the 58th minute.
Australia also won 1-0 through a Mathew Leckie 60th minute goal to see France and Australia through to the Round of 16.
Group C’s games were played from 3pm.
Argentina beat Poland 2-0 thanks to goals by Alexis Mac Allister and Julian Alvarez while Mexico beat Saudi Arabia 2-1 through goals by Henry Martin and Luis Chavez.
Saudi Arabia scored through Salem Aldawsari in the 90+5th minute.
Those results take Argentina and Poland through to the Round of 16, with Poland just edging ahead of Mexico on goal difference, as both ended with 4 points.
Tomorrow’s matches are Croatia vs Belgium and Canada vs Morocco at 11am and Japan vs Spain and Costa Rica vs Germany at 3pm.
