Trinidad and Tobago footballer Ajani Fortune has been signed as a home grown player for MLS club Atlanta United.
The 19-year-old has received a contract through the 2024 season, effect January 1st, 2023.
Fortune, who first played for T&T last year, has made his way to the first team through the Atlanta United academy and then representing Atlanta United 2.
The midfielder has come in for high praise from the academy’s director Matt Lawrey.
Lawrey complimented Fortune’s technique, calmness on the ball and ability to solve problems with his brain and talents.
Also pleased with his success is Atlanta’s Vice President and former US footballer, Carlos Bocanegra, who called him “a talented midfielder who reads the game very well and has a great work rate.”
