After an interruption by the COVID-19 pandemic, local darts officials are working to get the national league back up and running.

103.1FM News today spoke with PRO of the T&T Darts Association, Jarrod Payne, who detailed the plans for the league’s reintroduction, hopefully on August 30th.

Mr Payne says Kosmos Members Club will be hosting the team-format league when it resumes and some remedial work will take place at the Port of Spain location this weekend in preparation.

Following the break in darts action caused by the pandemic, the Association has held a number of “Grab Bag” competitions across various locations in T&T.

According to Mr Payne, the aim was to get players back to the oche (throw line) and playing the game, while also raising awareness about darts in the country.

The TTDA has been around since 1983, when it was formed to meet requirements for T&T’s participation in the Caribbean Championships in Jamaica.

Since then, this country has taken part in Caribbean Cups, American Cups and the World Cup.
