Tropical Storm Fiona has forced the postponement of the 1st One Day International between West Indies Women and New Zealand Women.

That match was due to be played tomorrow at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

That island however is now one of several that are under a Tropical Storm Warning.

The first match will be postponed, while a decision to subsequently be made regarding the 2nd match scheduled for Sunday, subject to the impact of the storm.

Cricket West Indies and New Zealand Cricket want to ensure the full series is played, and will confirm the rescheduled date and any further implications for the eight-match itinerary, which consists of three ODIs and five T20Is.

Points won in the ODI Series will go towards the new ICC Women’s Championship, which provides a direct pathway to qualification for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2025.

Meanwhile, the T20I Series will play a key role in both teams’ preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023.
