Ravi Rampaul starred with his best CPL bowling figures since 2014 as Trinbago Knight Riders pulled off victory over Jamaica Tallawahs.
The seamer took 4/19 in four overs as Tallawahs were restricted to 116/7 in 20 overs despite a gritty 50 from Fabian Allen.
Daryn Dupavillon, Sunil Narine and Akeal Hosein shared a wicket each.
In reply, TKR lost two wickets for no runs as openers Nicholas Pooran and Tion Webster made ducks to the silent astonishment of the Brian Lara Cricket Academy crowd.
However, Kiwis Colin Munro and Tim Seifert got the house rocking again with a 67-run partnership that ended when Munro was bowled by Imad Wasim for 40.
Then came another collapse and by the end of the 17th over, TKR had lost six wickets and needed 20 from 18 balls.
But Andre Russell and Akeal Hosein held on to their wickets and completed victory with five balls to spare – Russell hitting the winning runs with a boundary off of a full toss by Rovman Powell.
Speaking after the game, TKR skipper Kieron Pollard admitted that the team has not been as clinical as possible but was grateful for another two points.
The win takes TKR to third in the table after seven games and the home side would be looking to make the most of tomorrow’s final home game at BLCA against St Lucia Kings at 7pm.
