New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum is now head coach of Trinbago Knight Riders and IPL franchise KKR.
McCullum has had stints with the Knight Riders since the inaugural IPL tournament in 2008 and joined TKR in 2016.
He now replaces Simon Katich who took over in 2017.
On his appointment, McCullum says, “It’s a great honor to take on this responsibility. The Knight Rider franchises in IPL & CPL have become iconic and have set the standard in franchise cricket. We have fantastic squads in both KKR & TKR and I along with the support staff will be looking to build on the successes both franchises have enjoyed.”
CEO of KKR, Venky Mysore, says the Kiwi is “ideally suited to lead KKR & TKR as a Head Coach.”
