Dwayne Bravo’s Delhi Bulls beat the Northern Warrior’s while Chris Gayle was in top form as Abu Dhabi beat Bangla Tigers in the opening games of this year’s Abu Dhabi T10.
In the first game, the Warrior’s batted first and made 107/4 with Rovman Powell top scoring with 38.
Bravo, Ravi Rampaul and Romario Shepherd were among the wickets.
Then Rahmanullah Gurbaz smashed 30 from just 10 balls to help the Bulls to 110/4 in nine overs – victory by six wickets with an over to spare.
In game number two, Gayle hit 49 not out from 23 balls as he shared a 97-run partnership with Paul Stirling who made 59 from 23 balls.
Abu Dhabi ended up making 145/4 in 10 overs.
Both Stirling’s and Gayle’s explosive batting may have been outshone by Marchant de Lange’s five wickets for 23 runs in two overs.
His bowling effort saw the Bangla Tigers restricted to 105/8 in 10 overs, losing by 40 runs.
