Debutant Kemol Savory’s patient 71 not out has helped Guyana Jaguars to a last-ball win over the West Indies Emerging Players in their Super50 encounter.
In a low-scoring affair, WI-E batted first and made just 185/8 in their 50 overs with a top-score of 55 from Justin Greaves.
Left-arm spinner, Veerasammy Permaul led the bowling for Guyana with 3/34.
Then came Savory’s time to shine – in his first List A match for his country, he faced almost half of deliveries in the Jaguars innings, taking 146 balls to make his 71.
Deservedly, he also hit the winning runs – an inventive scoop off Camarie Boyce over the wicketkeeper for four.
