Trinbago Knight Riders could not complete victory over St Lucia Kings in match number seven of the 2021 Caribbean Premier League.
Chasing 158, TKR’s top four batters had a tough time scoring runs at a quick pace with only Tion Webster with strike rate above 100.
Colin Munro stuck around for 47 balls for his 40 not out but it was Tim Seifert who accelerated the TKR innings to a point where victory seemed possible.
He made a 16-ball 40 not out but could not get the six needed from the last ball as TKR ended on 152/3.
Earlier, St Lucia made 157/5 in 20 overs with a top score of 43 from 32 from Tim David while Ravi Rampaul took three wickets.
After the game, it was brought to TKR skipper Kieron Pollard’s attention that there were 61 dot balls in the innings.
He stated that it’s not something that can be helped given the nature of the playing surface but indicated that the batters will have to “find a way.”
