South Africa cricketer Dale Steyn has announced his retirement from the game.

In a post on social media, the fast bowler says it’s bittersweet but he is grateful.

He has spent 20 years in the game and says he has too many memories to tell and too many faces to thank.

Steyn retired from Test cricket in 2019 and kept his eye on the limited overs formats but has had some injuries in the last couple years.

He played 93 Tests, picking 439 wickets finishing eighth on the all-time list of wicket-takers.

He also played 125 ODIs, picking 196 wickets and 47 T20Is, in which he claimed 64.
